Kris Allen grew up in Conway, Arkansas. Before he was on American Idol, Kris self-released an album in 2007 called Brand New Shoes. In 2008, Kris married Katy, who had been his girlfriend since junior year of high school. Kris competed on the 8th season of American Idol and won. The songs 'No Boundaries' and his version of Kanye West's 'Heartless', both of which he sang on the show, made it into the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. 'No Boundaries' also made it to #1 on the iTunes chart. In November of 2009, Kris released his self-titled album, Kris Allen, which debuted at #11 on the U.S. Billboard 200.
