Stages of Stardom: Justin Timberlake
See how this one-time 'Mouseketeer' went from style icon to style maker!
1998: One of the Boys
*NSYNC's first album was released in 1998. The vocal quintet's self-titled debut album sold millions of copies in both the United States and Europe and contained the smash hits 'I Want You Back' and 'Tearing Up My Heart.' Justin's clean-cut look and short, bleached locks were a hit among young girls everywhere.
More on Justin
2000: Getting In Synch
One way that Justin showed his sense of style initially was with his hair. He rocked bleach blonde, curly afro, cornrows and more. It's great that all the guys are dressed up for this GRAMMY Awards appearance but still look unique.
2001: Blue Jean King and Queen
We've heard of coordinating outfits, but this is a bit extreme. The denim look could have been cute if, he and former flame, Britney Spears weren't dripping in it.
2001: This Must Be Pop!
This grafitti-looking outfit was actually a stage costume for Justin during *NSync's Pop Odyssey Tour. Costumes like this are usually a bit over the top, but the edgy, funky look really suits JT well.
2002: A Stroll Down Memory Lane
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake couldn't escape the media spotlight and their relationship suffered in the end. But they sure did make a good-looking couple while they lasted. Justin's leather jacket and casual attire really brings balance to Britney's bright feminine dress.
2002: Act 2
While the first leg of their tour was a flashy spectactle, the second leg was tamer and more about the music. Justin traded in the grafitti outfit for these more simple duds. The jean jacket adds a nice, western flair to his ensemble.
2003: I Don't Want to Grow Up
When Justin broke up with Britney Spears his style really took on a life of it's own. No longer playing the "matching" game he took some risks and they paid off. This vest is funky and fun and the hat is a great addition.
2003: A Date With a Moon Man
Why would you match sneakers with that sleek suit? If you're Justin Timberlake, you would do it because you CAN! The look is awkward and childlike, and really doesn't work but he tries his best to pull it off.
2004: Scruffy Star
Justin picked up Grammy awards for best male pop vocal performance ('Cry Me A River') and best pop vocal album ('Justified') with a thinner, scruffier look. Regardless of his unkept appearance, Justin continued attracting fans and beautiful celebrity girlfriends like, Alyssa Milano and Cameron Diaz.
2004: Label Him!
A man who knows good style should help others. Justin did just that when he, and childhood friend, Trace Ayala created their own clothing line. William Rast was created to be "a blend of city slick and southern sophistications." With stylish Justin Timberlake at it's helm, it's guaranteed to be a hot commodity.
2006: Baby Blues
Any TRUE Justin Timberlake fan will tell you his favorite color, during *NSync glory days, was baby blue. He doesn't wear the color often anymore, but we're glad he did for the 2005 MTV Movie Awards. His sweater looks great against his button-down dress shirt and the hat is stylish!
2006: Bringing It Back
For the release of his second album, Justin rocked a sleek black suit with a light-colored fitted shirt. The contrast of the colors looks great on him. While we prefer him in more casual, funk wear, this suit is nothing short of "smooth!"

2007: On the Green Carpet
For his role in 'Shrek the Third' Justin made an appearance at the movie's premiere. His argyle tie and button-down sweater were a little odd, especially when paired with the khaki green pants and shirt. We know Justin doesn't care that he was a bit off, because in his world he's always ON!
