The Dark Side

Final Grade: A+
Vanessa Hudgens' hair looked great for the AMAs. We liked the shiny, sleek black color and her curls were perfectly styled. She looked like she made an effort to be red carpet pretty but didn't go over the top with it.

Extendable Hair

Final Grade: C
Unfortunately we really weren't fans of Miley Cyrus' 'do. She seems to have colored her hair a more uniform, warm brown color and we like that, but she had weird super-blonde highlighted pieces, probably extensions, at the bottom.

A Sandy Outlook

Final Grade: B-
We have to commend Ashley Tisdale on her beautiful haircolor. It looks healthy and actually somewhat natural on her. We like the lowlights and highlights and how they mix perfectly. What we didn't like was the overall hair style. It was a bit messy and beachy looking for her pretty, sequined top.

Glamour Girl

Final Grade: A
Carrie Underwood was practically glowing on the red carpet. her makeup and skin looked flawless and we loved her hairdo. The upswept style was refined enough to look great with her dress, yet it wasn't overdone at all.

Hair-a-Licious

Final Grade: A+
What we loved best about Fergie's hair was its natural beauty. This girl has had her share of haircoloring processes and usually it shows. But right now she's rocking a very natural dark blonde/light brown hair color that looks great on her. We also loved how simple her hairstyle was.
Up Next: Kellie Pickler

Held in Place

Final Grade: C
We aren't sure where to come down on Kellie Pickler. We liked the casual style of her 'do and the pretty clip that held her hair back nicely. But the stark white color is a bit much and in the front her hair fell in face awkwardly making her look a bit lopsided.
Up Next: Amanda Bynes

Au Naturel

Final Grade: B-
Amanda Byne's hair looked very simple and natural. She wore it long and loose and it flowed around her nicely. We wish she would go back to a slightly darker color, even a light brown would look better then the blond ends of her hair. And of course we have to point out that her roots were showing a bit.

Streaks of Glory

Final Grade: A
We have come to really like Avril Lavigne's shocking pink streaks. At first we weren't sure about them, but as she has worn them more and more we've realized how great a fit they are for her. They're slightly edgy and yet girly all at the same time!

Dancing With Curls

Final Grade: A
'Dancing With the Stars' celeb Jennie Garth was spotted at the AMAs with very pretty, romantic, ringlet-style curls. We liked the loose style and it looked equal parts prim and proper with a fun flair.

Curl Power

Final Grade: A
It looks like Alicia Keys boarded the curly train. Her hair looked GREAT in loose pin up curls that fell around her face perfectly. We liked this style a lot on her and were just happy to see the braids were left in her past.
