Pretty Pointers: Clean Up Your Act
Your first (and last) beauty step should always involve taking care of your skin. When your skin is happy your appearance will be that much better.
Step 1: So Fresh and So Clean
Everyone's skin is different, so you might have to try out a lot of different products until you find the one for you. Most skin types will require daily washings, some even two times a day, those with really dry or sensitive skin may get away with less frequent washings. Washing gets rid of impurities such as make-up or even random dirt, and keep your complexion fresh.
Step Two: Soap It Up
The soap/face wash you use will be what determines your skin's outcome. Make sure you look at the labels and check what skin type it's recommended for. When applying it to your face, make sure your skin is damp first, if not splash some water on it. Then use a nickel sized amount of product and rub it in your hands, mixing in a small amount of water to create a lather. Then apply the soapy lather to your face, keeping away from the eye area!
Step Three: Rinse Away
Don't let the soap sit on your face, immediately rinse it away. Use warm tap water and gently splash it on your face. Make sure you get all the soapy residue and keep rinsing until the soap is gone. Try not to use water that is too hot, this will only irritate your skin and cause blotchiness.
Step Four: Towel Time
You would think drying your skin would be as simple as rubbing a towel on your face, but here are some things to note! Rubbing your face with a towel actually can irritate the skin and cause blotchiness or dry patches. So instead, pat your face dry, just use a regular towel and pat your face gently with it. If you have dry skin you might skip this step all together and just add moisturizer, adding moisturizer to damp skin actually helps seal in moisture.
