1994: Smiley Miley

Miley Cryus was born on November 23, 1992 in Nashville, Tennessee. Her parents are Leticia "Tish" and country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus. She has two half-brothers, a half-sister and a younger brother and sister. When she was born, she was given the name Destiny Hope because her parents believed she would do great things. She was given the nickname Miley because she was always smiling. Recently she legally changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus. Here she is at almost two with her famous dad at the "Elvis Presley Tribute Concert."

2006: A Star Is Born

Miley started acting at age nine on her father's TV series 'Doc' playing a girl named Kylie. She then went on to play "Young Ruthie" in the movie 'Big Fish' in 2003. Miley made some other small appearances, but her big break came at age twelve when she auditioned for the role of Hannah Montana for Disney. While at first producers didn't like her, they eventually came around and decided she was perfect for the role. 'Hannah Montana' premiered on the Disney Channel on March 24, 2006.
