A child plays with baby dolphin in front of the beach near the southern Croatian Adriatic town of Krilo Jesenice. A one-year-old baby dolphin lost his mother but was later safely rescued when other dolphins came to pick him up. As the Croatian Adriatic sea is one of the cleanest ones, dispute huge numbers of tourists every year, dolphins are commonly seen next to many beaches and resorts.

The aquarium marked the first anniversary of the tube shaped fish tank named "Dolphin Fantasy". With over 500 different varieties of fish and home to over 100,000 sea creatures, it is one of Japan's most popular aquariums.

The finless porpoise has proved it can survive and breed in China's mighty but polluted and traffic-choked Yangtze river, nevertheless because scientists estimate only 2,000 of the small dark grey mammals survive in the wild, the finless purpose is about to be added to the most endangered species list this year and will join other critically endangered animals that are indigenous to China such as the baiji dolphin, the Chinese carp, the giant panda and the tiger.
