The story of Underdog's mysterious origins begins after an accident in the hi-tech lab of the crazy scientist Dr. Simon Barsinister. Suddenly, an ordinary, down-and-out Beagle named Shoeshine, finds himself with extraordinary powers, which includes the ability to turn his bark into real speech. Now, armed with a fetching superhero costume, this self-described Underdog vows to protect the citizens of Capital City, especially one beautiful Spaniel named Polly Purebred. When a sinister plot by Barsinister threatens to destroy Capital City, only Underdog can save the day.
