Clayface has had many biographies, but the original one has him as a failed actor trying to regain his glory. The madness of failure leads him to make some questionable decisions and while terrorizing the set of a film his body is infected and turns to clay! His shape shifting abilities have turned him into a very tricky enemy for Batman.
