These ghostly "monsters" are actually frost-covered trees located on Mount Zao in Japan. Wet, heavy snow solidifies to fir trees and creates alien figures, complete with heads, arms, torsos and sometimes legs. Don't worry, though, these monsters are more impressive than dangerous.
