ZacHairspray: hi patricia! It's zac

MoviefoneTricia: how's it going?
ZacHairspray: everything's great! finishing up over here
MoviefoneTricia: cool -- ready for me then?
ZacHairspray: absoLUTELY
MoviefoneTricia: cool
MoviefoneTricia: so are you a big IMer, or is this your first time?
ZacHairspray: i've been aiming for quite a while. keep in touch with my close friends this way. so convenient
MoviefoneTricia: oh, definitely
ZacHairspray: my typing is a lil rusty
ZacHairspray: sorry, im working on getting a new pc
MoviefoneTricia: oh, i see -- what's wrong with the one you've got?
ZacHairspray: it got OLD. and there was soda in the keyboard. the space bar didn't work
ZacHairspray: all my aims looked like "heyhowsitgoinimissulikecrazy"
MoviefoneTricia: hahaha
MoviefoneTricia: oh come on
MoviefoneTricia: that's just an excuse, i know you really talk like that
ZacHairspray: lol
MoviefoneTricia: ok, so the movie
MoviefoneTricia: when you started making hairspray, how familiar were you with the original musical and john waters' film?
ZacHairspray: i had seen the john waters film... but not for a VERY long time. and i fell in love with the broadway show just after my first hairspray audition.
MoviefoneTricia: so did you get to see it on broadway, with harvey fierstein et al?
ZacHairspray: i didnt see harvey, but the cast was equally brilliant. hilarious
MoviefoneTricia: definitely. loved the broadway show (and the movie, too!)
MoviefoneTricia: your character had an elvis thing going on, which was a little different than previous incarnations
MoviefoneTricia: was that your idea?
MoviefoneTricia: or the director's?
ZacHairspray: a lil of both
ZacHairspray: one of my favorite things about the sixties is the emergence of rock and roll. who better depicts that than the man, elvis?
MoviefoneTricia: so did you have to do special hip-thrusting training?
ZacHairspray: actually i did. that part of your body isn't meant to move. I'm convinced
MoviefoneTricia: haha
MoviefoneTricia: i seriously just laughed out loud
ZacHairspray: you would have laughed harder if you saw me practicing
MoviefoneTricia: in front of your mirror, at home at night?
ZacHairspray: embarrassingly enough... yeah haha
MoviefoneTricia: hee, i love it. hey, so how long did it take to do your hair, with that little curl on the forehead?
ZacHairspray: it's amazing how much effort goes into that hair. it took a professional hair stylist a half hour to perfect
ZacHairspray: i can't imagine how hard it would have been to get right in the 60's
MoviefoneTricia: can you do it yourself now, or would you need professional help?
ZacHairspray: i would need help for sure.
ZacHairspray: the stuff they used was like rubber cement.
ZacHairspray: tricky
MoviefoneTricia: damn
MoviefoneTricia: i hear you gained 15 pounds for the role
MoviefoneTricia: is that true?
ZacHairspray: yeah, i figured it would help give me more of an elvis persona.
ZacHairspray: also, in the sixties, the clothes were very tight. i didn't want chicken legs.
MoviefoneTricia: so what'd you do to gain the weight?
MoviefoneTricia: or what did you eat
ZacHairspray: MEAT
ZacHairspray: lots of it
ZacHairspray: haha chicken nuggets
MoviefoneTricia: niice. i LOVE chicken nuggets, sadly
MoviefoneTricia: also steak
ZacHairspray: werd. steak. mmmmmm
MoviefoneTricia: mmmmm, i could go for some right now
ZacHairspray: i'll meet you at mcdonalds
MoviefoneTricia: sweet, it's a date
MoviefoneTricia: :)
ZacHairspray: haha right on
MoviefoneTricia: hey so did you get advice from travolta on being an acting/singing star ... or did you already feel like an expert?
ZacHairspray: I'm NO expert. i tried to watch john as much as i could. he truly is brilliant
ZacHairspray: i felt lucky to be acting along side such a legend
MoviefoneTricia: i could totally picture you in his role in Grease... are people calling you "the new Travolta," and if so is that weird for you?
ZacHairspray: i wish lol.
ZacHairspray: he's accomplished so much. i can only DREAM of making that big of a mark
MoviefoneTricia: yeah, where do you see your career in, say, five years?
ZacHairspray: hmmm... hard to tell. there's so many genres i would like to try...
ZacHairspray: shoot... they're asking me to wrap. nice talkin to you. i'll be at mcdonalds
MoviefoneTricia: see you there!
MoviefoneTricia: thanks so much for chatting
