Bethany Hamilton is a surfer who had an unfortunate accident where she lost her left arm in a shark attack. Thankfully she overcame the serious injury to return to the world of surfing. She had to teach herself to surf with one arm, and she is now competing again. In 2004, Bethany won the ESPY Award for Best Comeback Athlete of the Year.
