The Scoop on Music, Movies, TV and Celebrities
...And just like that the MTV Video Music Awards came and went. It was a wild night in Las Vegas (where the VMA's were filmed), and probably the wildest moment of the night was Britney Spears' performance. She opened the night with her new song, 'Gimme More,' which everyone was expecting to be amazing... Unfortunately, it was everything but! Britney struggled with the dancing and singing, and looked like she was putting little effort into everything she was doing. After her performance you could hear crickets in the arena, it was THAT bad! But before Britney Spears could ruin the entire VMA's, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Fall Out Boy saved the night with their performances, and ROCKED the show!
Overall, the VMA's were okay, but not the best. I was happy Rihanna won as many awards as she did, but sad that Justin Timberlake didn't win for 'Best Video of the Year.' Were your VMA predictions correct? Or did everyone you didn't vote for win? Send me your opinions!

September 4, 2007 --- 'The Naked Brothers Band: Battle of the Bands' DVD Review
The Naked Brothers Band is at it again! This time, Nat, Alex, and the Band have signed themselves up for a battle of the bands tournament, but there's one problem: They have to battle with the L.A. Nat (with the help of the rest of the band) embark on an adventure to prove to Rosalina, and the battle of the bands judges, that the L.A. Surfers are phony!
If you watch 'The Naked Brothers Band' every week, and wish that the half-hour show was longer, then 'The Naked Brothers Band: Battle of the Bands' DVD is perfect for you! It's an hour long episode that is packed with laughs, and a good time. And when you're done watching this two-part episode, you can flip to the menu and watch three music videos, biographies, and behind-the-scenes bonus features. Rock on!

August 7, 2007 --- The Nextfest Tour is the Place To Be!
Over the weekend I went to the Nextfest Tour featuring Aly & AJ, Corbin Bleu, and Drake Bell. All four artists put on such entertaining performances that it was hard for me to stay seated because I kept getting up to dance! Of course, I wasn't nearly as good of a dancer as Corbin Bleu, but that was to be expected. I have to say, Corbin put on the best show of the night (he was dancing, interacting with the audience, and singing his heart out), but performance that really surprised me was definitely from 'Drake and Josh' star, Drake Bell. Who knew this guy was actually really, really good? He sounded like a mix between The Click Five and Rooney, and was super good on the guitar. Overall, this is a must-go-to concert for every fan. Check out the Nextfest Tourdates to see if these guys are coming to a town-near-you!

August 7, 2007 --- Funny Rules

The first season of the family-friendly show, '8 Simple Rules,' is out on DVD, and with three discs of all 28 episodes and really funny bonus features (commentary, and bloopers), you're better off staying home and watching it then going out! John Ritter, who passed away unexpectedly a few years ago, is the highlight of the show, and is what makes this season worth watching. His character is a protective father who comes up with eight simple rules for the boyfriends that his two teenage daughters bring home. My favorite of his rules is: "If you make my daughters cry, I'll make you cry." This is a laugh-out-loud season, and probably the best one, too!

August 7, 2007 --- Too Sweet

My favorite show on the Disney Channel, 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,' finally hits stores with the Sweet Suite Victory Edition DVD. I just can't get enough of Dylan and Cole Sprouse and the three episodes featured are all so funny! Also, there is an awesome trivia game hosted by Brenda Song that tests your knowledge of the show and its stars! My absolute favorite part of the DVD was the hilarious Gag Reel which featured funny outtakes and bloopers. Once you pop this sweet DVD in, you will never want it to end!

August 6, 2007 --- Cory the All-Star!

Disney Channel's comedy 'Cory in the House' finally is in stores with the All Star Edition! This DVD includes behind-the-scenes interviews with stars including Kyle Massey, Jason Dolley, and Raven! Since 'Cory in the House' is a spin-off from 'That's So Raven' Raven supports her bro Cory and reveals secrets during her stylin' guest appearance! I couldn't stop laughing while watching the 4 hilarious episodes! Cory is definitely in the house and I know he is here to stay! I give this DVD Four Stars!

July 18, 2007 --- The Jonas Brothers Go Green

"We are very excited... Our generation is on the Internet, and all over the place, and we wanted to do something special for you guys." -The Jonas Brothers
The Jonas Brothers held a press conference in New York City on July 18 to announce their exciting CD release, and how it will be the first of its kind to hit stores. Basically, the entire CD cover is made from recycled paper, and if that wasn't environmentally-friendly enough, the brothers decided to make the booklet, which is usually inside of the CD, totally virtual! Fans can pop the CD into their computers and flip through tons of pages filled with exclusive pictures, lyrics, videos of the brothers answering questions, and LOTS more cool stuff (like the ability to insert a picture of yourself into a poster of the brothers at the prom)! Not only will this save trees, but it will give fans the opportunity to check out things that an ordinary enhanced CD just doesn't offer! This cool new feature is called CDVU+, and The Jonas Brothers will be the music industry's first to ever have their album (available August 7) in this format.
I got to play around with the stuff inside the CDVU+, and I just know fans will appreciate this so much more than any ordinary CD. There are videos of the brothers teaching viewers how to play certain parts of their most popular songs on guitar, so if you always wanted to learn how to play the chorus to 'Hold On' then this is perfect for you!

June 27, 2007 -- Coverage of the Fergie and Rooney Concert in NYC
Intern Ilaina and I kicked off our summer by attending the Fergie and Rooney concert on June 21 at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City!
The show was a lot fun! Rooney rocked out to all of their catchy tunes, including their latest single, 'When Did Your Heart Go Missing,' which you can hear on the 'Nancy Drew' soundtrack, and on Rooney's upcoming album out July 17. The band was so awesome live that Intern Ilaina and I couldn't stop bopping our heads during their entire performance! After a week, I STILL have their songs stuck in my head.
When Rooney left the stage, Fergie came out dressed like a royalty, and immediately got the crowd pumped! Hundreds of flashes went off as the audience snapped pictures of Fergie during her hits, 'Glamorous,' and 'London Bridge.' During 'Big Girls Don't Cry' (a KOL favorite), Fergie belted out the song so much that it gave me goosebumps. She sure knows how to turn a regular concert to a FERGALICIOUS show!
Check out the Fergie and Rooney Concert Photo Gallery with more about the show including pictures of Fergie, Rooney, and even Intern Ilaina and I!

June 26, 2007 -- My 'Enchanted' Evening
I love everything Disney especially the princesses. So, when Hollywood Jana told me about this event for a new Disney movie called 'Enchanted,' I seriously jumped for joy. Not only is this movie about a Disney princess, but one of my favorite actresses, Idina Menzel, is in it. 'Enchanted' is a musical that starts off as an animated movie but then turns into a live action Disney production filmed in New York City. N.Y.C. is my other favorite place in the world, other than Disney World.
When we first got to the event, all of these fancy appetizers were being served and I really felt like a true celebrity. Jana and I both have a sweet tooth, so we were very happy with the delicious fudge and cookies. Just when I thought the event couldn't get any better, we went to our seats and watched a presentation given by the director of the film, Kevin Lima. He explained everything about the film and we even got to see exclusive clips.
After the presentation was over, we took some awesome pictures on the stage where some of the actual costumes worn by the stars were being featured. I truly felt like a princess on stage because it was recreated to look like the castle. I can't wait to see 'Enchanted.' I will be the first in line November 21, when it sings its way into theaters!

June 25, 2007 -- Review of 'Hannah Montana: Pop Star Profile' DVD
The 'Hannah Montana: Pop Star Profile' DVD has four episodes of the hit-show, including awesome bonus features that are even better! You can watch a live concert performance of 'Nobody's Perfect,' and go behind-the-scenes of 'Hannah Montana' where cast (Emily Osment, Jason Earles, and Mitchel Musso) and family members dish about what Miley Cyrus is like when the cameras aren't rolling! Miley also talks about what it's like working on the show, and the cool stuff the cast does in-between takes (especially the pranks everyone pulls on each other). After watching this pop star profile, I am SO jealous of how fun and close everyone is on the show. I totally recommend this DVD for the die-hard 'Hannah Montana' and Miley Cyrus fans! I just wish the DVD included more than four episodes, but the behind-the-scenes footage makes up for it.
