Earth Crew Mission

NASA sends astronauts to space, but there are also a lot of other important jobs that NASA employees accomplish everyday here on Earth.

Earth Crew team members were part of ground breaking activities that have real impact on space missions. One assignment asked kids to come up with ideas for experiments that could be done on the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station.

Camping out in space? Yes, it's true! To prepare their bodies for a space walk, NASA astronauts sleep in sleeping bags in the small airlock outside of the International Space Station. The astronauts will perform many space walks as they continue to build the space station. Camping out in space!
