Hair Honor Roll: MTV Video Music Awards 2009

Grade: A
We didn't see a lot of Amanda Bynes during the VMA broadcast but it was nice to see that she was there. Her hair looked really nice. The color was soft and we think she looks great with the lighter color. It's not a hard blonde that you sometimes see with colored hair. The wavy curl gave it little more formal feel. Her makeup is nice as well. It brings out her eyes.

We aren't big fans on long hair on guys so this isn't totally our thing. Andy looks like he could use a haircut or shave, but that might be the Fall Out Boy way. His hair looks like it has a nice curl to it.

Beyonce was workin' it at the VMAs. She looked amazing, as did her hair. The lose curl is so pretty and isn't too frizzy or out of control. Beyonce's makeup looked pretty natural as well. Not only did she look classy, but she acted it as well when she gave Taylor Swift her time to make her winner's speech.

We just don't get Cassie's look. Half is shaven off and half is long and styled. Considering what she was going for it looked pretty good. Guess you could say it makes a statement.

We were torn on a grade for Perez. He could have gotten a B-. His hair is pretty funky but obviously it was meant to be like that and fits him. We have to say that for the look he had, it was styled nicely. It must have taken a lot of hairspray to get those waves of hair to stand up.

What can you say about Lady GaGa? She is an interesting artist who clearly marches to her own drum. She must have changed outfits every commercial break and from a contraption like this white one to a furry Eskimo looking headpiece, she had one strange look after another.

The surprise appearance by Madonna to honor Michael Jackson was great. We thought she looked good and her hair was perfect for what she was doing. Simple with a little bit of style. The top was a bit high but overall we liked it.

Overall Pete's hair isn't so bad. Our two issues are that his bangs are a bit long. Maybe he is growing them out. That sort of plays into our second issue- what's with the uneven lengths of hair on the sides. It makes it look a bit messy.

Wow, this is one crazy hairstyle. Looks like she has a bad case of bedhead. We are all for funky looks but this is too much. We will cut Pink a little bit of a break because she probably got the look practicing her trapeze performance and hanging upside down.

Here is our issue with Robert's hair at every event, it looks like he just stuck some mousse in and that was it. We can't even say he was going for a spiked look because it is just mess. Maybe it's an Edward thing.
