1987: Full House

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were born on June 13, 1986. At the age of six months they were hired to play Michelle Tanner on the popular TV show 'Full House.' They would take turns playing the role. The show ended in 1995 when the girls were nine years old. Although it was the end for 'Full House' it was just the beginning for Mary-Kate and Ashley.

1998: Start of an Empire

Once 'Full House' was over, Mary-Kate and Ashley formed Dualstar Entertainment to begin to build their career. They started working on new TV shows, direct-to-DVD movies, and allowed items with their pictures to be sold.

1999: Happy 13th Birthday

Mary-Kate and Ashley official enter the world of teens as they celebrate their thirteenth birthday. By now they had done movies such as 'It Takes Two' and 'Billboard Dad.' They also had just finished up working on 'Two of a Kind' which aired on ABC.

2000: Building a Brand

By 2000, Mary-Kate and Ashley were working on their lifestyle brand for tweens and announced they were launching a pocket planner designed specifically for girls. They went on to develop clothes, jewelry, fragrances, and accessories all of which were sold at Wal*Mart. Mattel even developed a line of Mary-Kate and Ashley dolls.

2001: So Little Time

In 2001, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen worked on a new TV show for Fox Family called 'So Little Time.' They also lent their voices to the animated series 'Mary-Kate and Ashley in Action' and did several more movies. They continued to grow their clothing line, and added beauty products to their merchandise.

2003: Growing Up

Mary-Kate and Ashley continued to do movies but were getting older and wanted to do more edgy roles. They did a cameo in 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.'

2003: College Bound

By the end of 2003, the girls were thinking about college and what their lives would hold after high school. They announced they would be attending NYU and living in New York City.

2004: New York Minute

Not only did Mary-Kate and Ashley move to NY for school, but is was the location of their big screen movie 'New York Minute.' The movie was about twin sisters who are complete opposites and one crazy day in the city.

2004: Price of Fame

Mary-Kate and Ashley earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Later, Mary-Kate would go on to take a leave of absence from school and eventually undergo treatment for an eating disorder. She then moved back to the west coast while Ashley stayed in NY.

2007: Fashion Forward

Mary-Kate and Ashley were named the faces of upscale fashion line Badgley Mischka in 2006 and went on to create their own couture fashion line called "The Row." In 2007 they were named the 11th richest women in entertainment by Forbes Magazine. Both Mary-Kate and Ashley have begun to work on solo acting projects.
