Red Carpet Wrap Up: Grammys 2009

    Paula Abdul
From the waist down we love Paula's dress. The entire top of the dress we just don't get. The metal plates on the shoulder and neckline just look stuck on there like they just needed to be used. We laughed when Ryan Seacrest told her she had her own set of chimes.

    Coldplay
Chris Martin, Will Champion, Guy Berryman, and Jonny Buckland make up the group. While we know their music is popular, we don't get the outfits. There is some coordination with the black pants, jackets, and sneakers but it looks more like they are hitting the clubs rather than going to an awards show. And honestly, not one of the jackets is even stylish.

    Jordin Sparks
We are sort of mixed on Jordin's dress. The design on the fabric is unique and ties in nicely to the curl design on the neckline. What we aren't sure about is whether this is the most flattering look for her. The top part of the dress seems to puff out and the skirt part of the dress seems to lose her waistline.

    Estelle
This dress looks like something our of 'The Jetsons.' The hoop-like part around the skirt and the pointy shoulders all remind us of what Judy Jetson wore. Plus, the color and material just adds to the problem.

    Jay-Z
Jay-Z was very classy on the red carpet. His suit is very traditional and looked crisp and formal. Marriage must be agreeing with him.

    Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift
These two superstars not only performed together but looked great side-by-side on the red carpet. They each selected a black dress that fit their style and was flattering for their figures. We also have to call our their great jewelry.

    Ne-Yo
Ne-Yo had an interesting look going on. We kind of like it except for the pattern on the jacket. The gray pants are a nice change from the typical black suit and the scarf underneath the shirt brought it together nicely in terms of color. One question we have is what's with the glasses? Is it really that sunny that so many of the stars (Jay-Z, Flo Rida, etc) had to wear them in for interviews and pictures?

    Sara Bareilles
So our issue with this dress is that the bottom of it looks like a fuzzy bath mat or rug. It makes us want to lay it on the floor and take a nap on it. And we don't love the orange belt with the pink dress. Guess that was done to make the shoes work (or vice versa).

    Solange
We have to applaud Solange for a great look that is totally appropriate for a twenty-two year old. The dress is a pretty color, nice strapless neckline, and a little funky bottom. It's short but why not show off your legs if you have skinny ones like she does. We like the purse too!

    T-Pain
Rapper T-Pain or should we call him T-Hatter- arrived on the red carpet looking quite funky. The hat and the jacket actually work well together but the overall look is just a little strange. Jeans aren't exactly what we would wear to an awards show but then we wouldn't wear those crazy glasses or paisley top hat either. And who needs a scarf in the warm weather of LA?
