Camouflage was designed for members of our Armed Forces to blend in when in battle. Avril did anything BUT blend in at the 2002 MTV Movie Awards, in super-baggy camo pants paired with her typical tie accessory. Also, check out her white tank top layered over black bra, oh the horror!

2003: She Wears the Pants

If we saw Avril in a skirt back in her early career we might have fainted. For the 2003 GRAMMY Awards she chose to dress up, in a tuxedo. She looked very well put-together with her tuxedo pants, jacket and top hat. She definitely was remaining true to her style.

2003: Pink Lady

We tried respecting Avril's desire to look different and follow her own drummer. Problem is she came up way short this time. Her black corset looked way out of place with those black and shocking pink, pinstriped pants. And don't even get us started on the chunky, skater sneakers with the shocking pink shoelaces. We gave her props for weaving the color pink into the ensemble though.

2004: Young Love

If anyone would understand Avril's punky, edgy style it would be Sum 41's Deryck Whibley. While they denied they were dating initially, the magazines kept catching them together. We liked Avril's skinny brown and pink scarf with her brown hooded sweatshirt and track pants. She was definitely trying to play it low key while her romance was just starting to bloom.

2004: Is That a Skirt?

It's not only a skirt, but a DRESS! All of sudden Avril took a turn to being feminine, she dyed her hair blond and started wearing somewhat girly things. What we liked best about this dress was how edgy it was, while still being really flattering on her. And the black boots kept it true to her style.

2006: True Beauty

We can't believe how GREAT Avril looked at the 2006 Kids' Choice Awards. We loved her skinny black pants with cute pumps. And the black, short-sleeved sweater over a white, long-sleeved shirt were perfectly paired. We give her kudos for pulling off a polished preppy outfit punk style.

Wow, could it be Avril took a liking to dresses in 2006? She was spotted on the red carpet in this black and grey, tube top, dress and simple black pumps. This dress looked great on her figure and we liked the flirty skirt.

We liked how Avril managed to keep the edginess to her style by continuing to make black a staple color in her wardrobe. But we can't overlook the fact that dress looked PHENOMENAL! The stripes flattered her tiny frame and the dress swooped out at the hips to create a beautiful silhouette.

2006: Punk and Princess

This dress was an excellent choice for Avril. The lacy, sheer, black material was beautifully feminine and the skirt was slimming and sassy. Her round-toe pumps were a great addition, as well. Overall she looked like the belle of the ball, and she kept her punky edge!
