Aug 20, 2008 - Downs was available to pitch in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the New York Yankees, according to the Toronto Star.
Aug 16, 2008 - Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston said he hopes Downs will be able to pitch in a few days, maybe as early as Saturday.
Aug 13, 2008 - Downs had to leave Wednesday's game after spraining his right ankle while backing up third base. "I didn't want to go out there and see a bone sticking out of his leg," Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston said. "He'll be reassessed in a couple days, but if he can't pitch, it will be a big loss for the team."
