Oct 04, 2009 - Washburn lasted just one inning Tuesday night - the shortest start of his career - and gave up four runs in an 11-1 loss to the Royals before it became obvious that his sore left knee wasn't up to pitching. The team's official Web site reported that the left-hander is unlikely to pitch in the postseason, should the Tigers win the AL Central. He will likely spend the offseason rehabbing his injury.
