Jul 31, 2008 - McGowan had surgery Thursday to repair fraying of the labrum in his right shoulder and is expected to be healthy in time for spring training.

Jul 09, 2008 - McGowan, who was placed on the disabled list early Wednesday, has a tear in his rotator cuff and will miss at least four weeks. Right-hander Brian Wolfe was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to take his place.
