World Series 2009
The New York Yankees win their 27th World Series Championship, the most championships in baseball history, as they defeat the Philadelphia Phillies with an 7-3 victory in Game 6.

After putting up amazing offensive numbers, including 6 RBIs in Game 6, Matsui earns the MVP. He went on to say through a translator: "I guess you could say this is the best moment of my life right now."
Meanwhile, the Yankees' Andy Pettitte, working on only 3 days' rest, pitched well enough to win going into the 6th inning, giving up only 3 runs to earn the victory - and his 5th World Series Championship ring. Get the full Game 6 stats
The Phillies' Pedro Martinez gets the loss as the Yankees were able to score early and the Phils batters were not able to break through against Pettitte.
