Sugar Gliders
Where Are They From?
In the wild, you can find sugar gliders in places like Australia, Borneo, New Guinea, Tasmania and neighboring islands of Indonesia.
Sugar Gliders
They Are Not Rodents
Sugar gliders are part of the marsupial family, but they are NOT rodents. Marsupials are mammals that can grow their babies in a pouch, like the kangaroo and opossum. Marsupial babies are called joeys.
Sugar Gliders
Yummy!
The gliders LOVE mealworms and crickets. They also eat corn on the cob, peanuts and cashews, yogurt, fruits, vegetables and cereal. Protein is best for sugar gliders. Insects like mealworms or crickets are the best choice, but gliders can also eat chicken or ham, for example.
Sugar Gliders
Too Much Sugar
Because sugar gliders like fruit, we tend to feed them way too much fruit. The problem is some fruit is very high in sugar, and fruits high in sugar are not really for sugar glider pets.
