A diver attaches a sensor to a large Echizen Jellyfish off the coast of northern Japan. Large schools of Echizen jellyfish, which have a body ranging 1 to 1.5 meters in diameter (3 to 4.5 feet), drift into the Sea of Japan in autumn and damage coastal fisheries.

A giant squid is seen after it washed up onto a beach in Tasmania in 2007. The squid, measuring 1 meter (3 feet) across at its widest point and 8 meters (26 feet) from the tip of its body to the end of its tentacles, was found by a beachcomber at Ocean Beach on the island state of Tasmania's west coast.

Bubba is a lobster!

A 23-pound lobster pulled from the waters off Nantucket, Mass., is in a tank beside your average 1.5 pound lobster at Wholey's fish market in Pittsburgh, PA. The big crustacean was never cooked for dinner and was returned.

A giant oyster from England:

The biggest oyster ever found in Britain was plucked from the sea bed. The monster mollusc weighs a whopping 1.36kg and measures 18cm across - three times the size of the average oyster and will be listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The creature - nicknamed Shelly - is a species known as the Edible or Native oyster which usually grow to 0.5kg or 11cm. It was dredged up from the sea and then later found in a box of fish bought at market by fisherman.

A fisherman with a giant squid believed to have been caught in the Ross Sea, Antarctica. The creature, known as a colossal squid (scientific name Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni) and is thought to be the largest squid ever found anywhere in the world, weighing an estimated 450kg,(990 pounds), 150kg (330 pounds) heavier than the next biggest specimen ever found.
