Syesha Mercado

Syesha had the hardest task of all the contestants this season on American Idol. Everyone expected the final battle to be between the two idols named David. While many hoped that she could manage to beat either David Cook or David Archuleta, she was voted off Wed., May 14. She kept her elimination simple and smiled sweetly without a tear in sight. But she did look great with her new straightened hairstyle.

Syesha grew up in Sarasota, Florida where she started to sing for her church at the only four years old. She currently goes to Florida International University in Miami, Florida. When American Idol came to audition potential singers in Miami, Syesha impressed the judges and was sent to Hollywood.
