KOL Chats With the TV and Movie Star
KOLSteph: Hi Sammi- Welcome to KOL!
SammiHanratty: Thanks, I'm so happy to be here
KOLSteph: We have so much to ask. First let's start with your role on 'Suite Life.'
KOLSteph: What's it like to play Holly?
SammiHanratty: It's so much fun because she is totally different from who I really am. I loved playing the card trick on Maddie! Ashley is so much fun to work with. I also got to do a stunt in that episode where I slip and fall. It was so much fun!
KOLSteph: Do you like playing a con artist?
SammiHanratty: Yeah! It's cool being able to play different characters and that one lets you be a little mischievous without really getting in trouble from my mom
KOLSteph: LOL
KOLSteph: What's it like to work with Dylan and Cole?
SammiHanratty: They are both amazing to work with and really sweet on and off the show. I'm a huge fan of there's so I was a little nervous to meet them, but they welcomed me right from the start. I got to play with their dog, Bubba, and had just an awesome experience working with them.
KOLSteph: Sounds like fun
SammiHanratty: it was!
KOLSteph: I understand on The Unit you get to work with your sister- how's that?
SammiHanratty: It's fun. It's funny because they totally write the show like our own characters. I'm the emotional one in real life and also on the show. One time we got to have a food fight on set and it was really fun to do it with my sister!
KOLSteph: You come from a big family?
SammiHanratty: I have 4 sisters
KOLSteph: Do you all get along?
SammiHanratty: yes, we all get along really well. Danielle and I see each other the most, since I am the youngest, so we have more arguments than the others. But I love her to death!!
KOLSteph: On Pushing Daisies you play "young Chuck". Do you often work with the actress who plays "old Chuck" so that you have some of the same mannerisms and sayings?
SammiHanratty: Unfortunately, we don't really get to see each other. she is usually on one unit and I am on the other.
SammiHanratty: they will shoot us at the same time on two different sets
KOLSteph: what's it like to work with the Pushing Daisies' cast?
SammiHanratty: everyone is so sweet. I love working with Swoozie and Ellen. They play my aunts.
KOLSteph: You have had roles on so many different TV shows, besides the ones we talked about, which have been your favorites?
SammiHanratty: I got to work with some of my good friends on iCarly. I love Jennette and Nathan, so that was really fun working with them.
SammiHanratty: That's so Raven was also really fun. Raven is so cool!
KOLSteph: Two very cool shows- we actually chatted with both Jennette and Raven. They were both very nice.
KOLSteph: We understand you finished filming a movie called Jack and the Beanstalk which you play Gretel- was that Gretel as in Hansel and Gretel?
SammiHanratty: yeah. It was really cool too because I wore the same dress that Taylor Momsen wore when she played Gretel in Hansel and Gretel
KOLSteph: Are you still filming A Christmas Carol or are you done with that?
SammiHanratty: I finished that movie the beginning of March and started a new movie the very next day
SammiHanratty: Christmas Carol was so much fun though
KOLSteph: What movie are you working on now?
SammiHanratty: I just finished two other movies
SammiHanratty: I did a new American Girl-Girl of the Year Movie that comes out in January 2009
SammiHanratty: and then I just flew to Virginia to shoot a movie called Kalamity
KOLSteph: Wow- you sound very busy!
SammiHanratty: I am really blessed to have all this work. I love it. I am actually taking some time off right now to spend time with family in Arizona
KOLSteph: You deserve a break after all those movies!
KOLSteph: Which do you like better - doing movies or TV shows?
SammiHanratty: tough question!!
SammiHanratty: I get really attached to people quickly, so it's hard to say goodbye after a movie. I would have to say I like movies better anyway, because I love playing a different character. I love both so much though.
KOLSteph: Of all the people you have worked with on TV and movies- who has been your favorite?
SammiHanratty: Lacey Chabert, Kaitlyn Deever, Mia Ford, Ashley Tisdale
SammiHanratty: Ashley and Lacey are really good influences on me
KOLSteph: Guess it is hard to pick just one!
KOLSteph: Is there anyone you would love to work with?
SammiHanratty: Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Amanda Bynes
KOLSteph: Three good picks!
KOLSteph: We read that you love animals - do you have any pets?
SammiHanratty: Yes, two dogs. Lexi is a German Shephard and Sara is a Yorkie/Papillon mix
SammiHanratty: they are like my best friends
KOLSteph: do they get to come with you when you work?
SammiHanratty: hopefully Sara will soon. it's hard to keep an animal on set when you are working all day.
KOLSteph: That's true.
KOLSteph: So we like to do something called On the Spot where we give you two items and you pick your favorite. Sound good?
SammiHanratty: go for it
KOLSteph: Summer or winter?
SammiHanratty: summer
KOLSteph: vanilla or chocolate?
SammiHanratty: chocolate
KOLSteph: video games or board games?
SammiHanratty: that's hard...video games
KOLSteph: what's your favorite video game?
SammiHanratty: guitar hero on wii
KOLSteph: everyone we talk to loves that- LOL
KOLSteph: ok, pizza or french fries?
SammiHanratty: french fries!
KOLSteph: city living or country living?
SammiHanratty: city
KOLSteph: and last one- peanut butter and jelly or peanut butter and marshmallow fluff?
SammiHanratty: peanut butter and jelly
KOLSteph: A classic
