April 17, 2008 - Ride On, Kristy Lee
So again we were wrong. It wasn't Carly or Jason, as a matter of fact, they weren't even in the bottom three. It was Kristy Lee Cook who finally got the boot. She had hung on all these weeks that we were beginning to think she was in it for the long haul. The bottom three were Brooke, Syesha and Kristy. That was not the first time Brooke and Syesha were in the bottom three so their time might be limited. We love how David A sat in the middle when Ryan asked him to choose a group. That was very nice of him. Other highlights of the night were a performance by both Mariah Carey and Elliot Yamin, a good performance by the seven finalists, funny questions from the call-in fans and of course, Kristy Lee ending it singing to Simon. What did you think of the evening? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

April 16, 2008 - Mariah Night
Last night the mentor was Mariah Carey. She has a new album out so it's a perfect time to come onto 'Idol.' We have to agree with Simon that it was definitely the boys who stepped up. Maybe they seemed better since it wasn't a direct Mariah comparison. Overall we have to give it to the Davids. Both David A and David C had really strong performances. The girls weren't bad, just nothing amazing. Who do we think is going home? That's a tough one... we are going to go with either Carly or Jason. Who do you think is going? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

April 11, 2008 - Good-bye Mate
Last night on Idol they did more around Idol Gives Back and had the elimination. For a few seconds Ryan almost had us believing that they weren't going to say good-bye to anyone this week, but that was just Ryan thinking he was being dramatic(or mean). Oh, before the results, we did think the performance with Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown was very good. OK, so the bottom three were Michael, Syesha and Carly. We actually think that America got the bottom three correct. We thought Syesha might go but when Ryan said and Carly, you knew they were the safe ones. So goodbye to Michael. It sort of make sense. He is a bit more quiet than some of the others so his fan base is probably not as big. What did you think of the elimination? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

April 10, 2008 - Idol Gives Back
Last night it was all about helping others who are less fortunate here in the U.S. and abroad. They highlighted visits to places that are in need of help like Paula and Randy in New Orleans, Simon in NY and Bono in South Africa. It definitely had an impact on us. We donated knowing that our money could help buy several families in Africa nets to prevent malaria or help children here in the U.S. get books to read. Every dollar makes a difference. In terms of the show itself, we loved the opening routine with the Idols and 'So You Think You Can Dance' cast. Very high energy and Ryan dancing at the end of it was hysterical. We also loved it when Teri Hatcher stole Carrie Underwood's song and sang 'Before He Cheats.' The comedy routine between Billy Crystal and Miley Cyrus was also great. She had two good performances. We also liked Fergie, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, and the Idol's performance of "Seasons of Love" from RENT. Tonight is the results show so we will find out who is going home. What did you think of last night's show? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

April 9, 2008 - Songs With a Message
In the spirit of this week and Idol Gives Back, last night's theme asked the finalists to select a song that had a message that inspired them. Some of the song choices were good, and others we didn't get. Overall, we have to say that nothing blew us away. Finalists like Carly, David Cook, Brooke White, etc were good but not their best performances. Actually, we have to say that one of the best performances of the night was Kristy Lee Cook. Very smart choice of song. And she looked good too. We are looking forward to another year of giving with 'Idol Gives Back.' Sounds like so many great stars will be coming out to help raise money for those in need. And we think, like last year, they will give the contestants a break this week and not send anyone home. What do you think? Is someone going home? Who? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

April 3, 2008 - Aloha Ramiele
OK, we admit it, we were wrong. We thought Syesha was going home, but she wasn't even in the bottom three. We were surprised that both Ramiele and Brooke were in the bottom. Kristy has just become a regular on the chairs, but seems to hold on each time. We knew Brooke wasn't going home so when Ryan sent her back it was not a big deal. And then as Randy called it, Ramiele was sent home. We are sorry to see her go; she was the cute little one in the competition (along with David A). We were also glad to see Simon in a better mood and apologizing for his behavior on Tues night. On the show they also highlighted some past Idol contestants and where they are now. Seems like Bo, Bucky and Phil are all enjoying some success. What did you think of Ramiele getting sent home? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

April 2, 2008 - Dollywood
It was Dolly Parton night for the final nine contestants. Hearing all the performances makes your realize how talented Dolly really is. She has written some of the best songs; not only country ones, but pop as well. Either Simon isn't a Dolly fan or was just in a really bad mood last night. He hardly liked any of the performances. And what was with his bashing of Carly's looks/outfits? That was hitting below the belt. The best performances of the night were probably David A, Michael, and Kristy. Gotta love all the country songs she could pick from. Who's headed home? We are going to predict Syesha. The judges hate it when you try and take on big songs like Mariah or Whitney and the audience tends to agree with that. Plus, she has been in the bottom three several times. Who do you think it is the end of the road for? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

March 27, 2008 - Take It Easy, Chikezie
So as we thought, last night we said goodbye to Chikezie. We actually liked his ballad, but for some reason we knew it was his time. He just isn't as popular as some of the other contestants. Kristy being in the bottom three wasn't a surprise but she keeps hanging in there. Syesha was definitely unexpected. She had a strong performance but the song was maybe not recognizable enough. Or maybe she rubs people the wrong way? We were glad Carly didn't make the bottom three. Kimberly Locke performed and she is lookin' and soundin' good. What did you think of her performance and the elimination? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

March 26, 2008 - Your Top Ten
Last night each of the ten finalists sang a song from the year of their birth. Overall we have to say it was a pretty good night. Even Kristy had a decent performance due to a great choice of song in 'Proud to be an American.' Even Simon praised it. Other strong performances were Michael, who in our opinion, did his best performance to date, David C who took a big risk but definitely worth it, and Syesha, with her powerful range. On the weaker side was Jason, Ramiele and Carly. Two questions- what was up with those gloves Paula was wearing and why did Simon and Randy keep going at it? Weirdness at the judges table. Anyway, who's going home? We think it will be either Carly, Ramiele or Chikezie (even though we liked his ballad). Who do you think is headed home? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

March 20, 2008 - Down to Ten
Last night on 'Idol' we said goodbye to another contestant and were left with the top ten. The bottom three were Carly, Amanda, and Kristy. The fact that Carly was there was shocking. She is one of the strongest voices in the competition. If she had gotten booted we would have called for a recount. Kellie Pickler performed. She was pretty good. Ryan also talked about this year's 'Idol Gives Back' and showed Fantasia and Elliot in Africa. When they named that baby after him it was so touching. OK, back to the main focus. When all was said and done, we said goodbye to Amanda. Now we aren't huge Amanda fans, but come on, she was better than Kristy. And what about Michael? This is definitely got a little popularity to it. What did you think about the elimination? Post your thoughts on the message boards.

March 19, 2008 - More Beatles Hits
Last night the top 11 took the stage for another week of Beatles hits. We agree with Simon that doing another week of those songs wasn't a good idea. Let's get on to something new. Overall the contestants did well. To us the strongest performances were David A, David C, Carly and Syesha. Is it just us or is Carly's tattoo a bit distracting. That girl is always staring at us! LOL Kristy and Michael not so good. We think one of them is headed home. Surprisingly we again agree with Simon that what sold Jason Castro's performance was his face. Got to give him credit for learning French for it. We thought Amanda was funny when she was talking about showing off what her concert would be like. She does make sense. What did you think of the performances? Post your thoughts on the message boards.
