A New Administration Begins

On November 4, 2008 the country voted and selected Barack Obama and Joe Biden as the new President Elect and VP Elect. Many called this a moment that will be remembered in history books because it is the first time an African-American man was elected as president. Barack Obama and Joe Biden will start their new jobs on January 20, 2009 as they get sworn into office. This swearing in is called an inauguration. *Was born on August 4, 1961 in Hawaii
*Married to Michelle Robinson and has two young kids named Malia Anne & Sasha
*Went to Columbia and Harvard Universities
*Was a member of both the Illinois State Senate and U.S. Senate


Joe Bidem
*Was born on November 20, 1942 in Pennsylvania
*Married to Jill Jacobs and has three kids (who are now grown) named Joseph (Beau), Robert, and Ashley
*Went to University of Delaware and Syracuse University
*Was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1979 at only 29 years of age
