Bill O'Leary was out surfing off the coast of Australia when he fell off his board... and onto a shark. The animal bit him twice, slicing down to the bone. Friends helped O'Leary back to shore and got him to a hospital for treatment. Check out some of these other incredible stories of human and animal interactions.

Several Anchorage, Alaska residents had a memorable Memorial Day when two different moose charged unsuspecting people. The victims were able to seek shelter before they had any injuries.

In Queensland, Australia, 10-year-old Rachel Shardlow astounded doctors when she survived numerous stings from the deadly box jellyfish. The girls leg got tangled in the tentacles of the sea creature while she was swimming in a river with her brother. Her brother pulled her out of the water with the jellyfish still attached. Rachel spent 6 weeks in a hospital recovering from the stings that are usually so painful, they can cause heart failure in victims.

In Guwahati, India, swarms of this tarantula-like spider are appearing. Doctors are seeing a rising number of bites. Two people have already died from the powerful spider bites.

In New South Wales, Australia, Kirrily McWilliams claims an aggressive female kangaroo stalked her before attacking her. The animal was hanging around McWilliams' house for several days, but Wildlife Services refused to remove the kangaroo, saying she should leave on her own. Instead of hopping off, the kangaroo cornered McWilliams when she was leaving her car and beat her. Fortunately, no serious injuries resulted from this boxing match.
