There are 18 different species of penguins. Sadly, 13 of them are listed as threatened or vulnerable. Some are even facing extinction.
Penguins don't have any teeth. They swallow their fish whole.
They can't fly, but their strong flippers make them great swimmers. They can paddle up to 15 miles per hour.
These chubby birds need extra fat to stay warm. Their fat also serves as an energy reserve when food is scarce.
Penguins spend almost 75% of their lives hunting for food in the ocean.
Pengiuns are very vocal. They love to chat with each other. And they use their heads and flippers to communicate, too.
