A Day in the Life of a Tooth Fairy with Larry the Cable Guy

Ever wondered what it's like to be a Tooth Fairy? Now you can find out with this special story from Larry the Cable Guy.

You wouldn't know from looking at him but Larry Guthrie is really a Tooth Fairy! Each day he makes sure to brush his teeth two times to keep Nyx, his Tooth Fairy boss, happy. Then Larry gets dressed and heads out to his job at the body shop.

Larry loves cars. Nyx gave Larry a pink car that he didn't really like at first but he's learned to drive it proudly all over town. "It's a part of who I am now," Larry admits. "If I couldn't drive it one day, I would miss it. It's something I can't live without, just like my lucky bowling ball!"

Speaking of bowling: It happens to be the Tooth Fairy's absolute favorite hobby. Larry has actually won awards for his feats in the sport and is the town's bowling champion, an honor which he takes very seriously. In fact, for a long time, he even thought the night he was named champion was his most treasured memory from his life. That is, until Nyx was able to set him straight and make him see that in reality, his best memory was spending time with his girlfriend Brooke. "Yup, Nyx really set me straight," says Larry. "She may look young but she definitely knows more than you'd think she does!"
Once work has finished for the day, Larry enjoys relaxing and watching some television with his friends who work at the mechanic shop with him. Almost every night, he indulges in one of his favorite foods: fried chicken. "It's just so delicious!" Larry says. "Once I ate so much that I thought I actually turned into a chicken!"
The night Larry is speaking of was actually the first time he learned of his Tooth Fairy duties. He says that he woke up in complete Tooth Fairy fashion with a pink tutu, wings, and wand. Then he was confronted by Nyx, informing him that he needed to get cracking on collecting kids' teeth. At first, Larry didn't want to take on the task but once he saw how many kids didn't believe in Tooth Fairies, he knew that this was the job for him.

Now, Larry loves being his town's Tooth Fairy. He takes his job extremely seriously, and works very quickly, sometimes visiting up to 10 different homes in one night! He is always armed with different powders and potions to help him successfully collect everyone's teeth but Larry says some homes can be unpredictable. He's encountered everything from guard pigs (yes, PIGS!) that need to be calmed down with moon pies, to kids who are light sleepers and need to be dusted with slumber sprinkles. Despite all of the strange things he encounters, Larry says he wouldn't trade his job for any other job in the world.
"It's so great!" he says. "It may not always be easy, but ultimately, I know I'm doing my part to make sure that everyone believes in the Tooth Fairy. And that makes it worth it."

Larry also played our "On the Spot" game with us. See if he likes hamburgers or hot dogs, smoothies or milkshakes and more below.
